The Mendocino State Hospital Project
History of a former hospital near Ukiah, California

As a state institution, Mendocino State Hospital (MSH) produced a large quantity of printed material and documents during its eighty years of existence. As part of my research project, many of its documents from the California State Archives and other sources have been uploaded here as PDFs. Of particular note are the annual/biannual reports produced on the state of the hospital, as well as the weekly hospital newspaper that was published by staff and patients, the Pomo News.
